Canadian rock band Nickelback perform live at the Toyota Center in Houston, with special guest Don Broco.
Nickelback play the Toyota Center on Thursday, April 29, 2027, with Don Broco opening. It's a Houston stop for the Canadian rock group, who've been around since the late nineties.
They started in Hanna, Alberta, and got their first real break from 99.3 The Fox, a Vancouver station that ran an annual competition for local bands, which they won in 1999. Chad Kroeger founded the group as a tribute act, and the lineup grew to include his brother Mike Kroeger on bass, his cousin Ryan Vikedal on drums, and Ryan Peake on guitar, while Chad began writing his own material. The band's name comes from the Starbucks where Mike worked and had to hand a nickel back in change. Daniel Adair has been on drums since 2005.
Their radio-friendly sound took hold in Canada first. After the singles "Leader of Men" and "Breathe" from their fourth album, The State, the next three records—Silver Side Up, The Long Road, and All The Right Reasons—all hit number one on the Canadian charts. All The Right Reasons also topped the US charts, and "How You Remind Me" pushed them to number two in Germany, which was their international breakthrough. Don Broco will open the show.
