DJ set by Neon Indian at the historic Axelrad Beer Garden, closing out the Halloween night.
Neon Indian plays a DJ set at Axelrad Beer Garden on Saturday, October 31, closing out Halloween night. The set is on the Fest Stage, and it's free to get in.
Neon Indian is the project of Alan Palomo, an Austin native whose work pulls from electronic, pop, acousmatic, chillwave, city pop, and tape music. If you've followed him for a while, you know he doesn't stick to one soundβhe's as comfortable with a pop hook as he is with the more experimental, textural side of electronic music. This is a DJ set, so expect him behind the decks rather than a full live band setup.
Axelrad is a Midtown bar housed in the historic Axelrad building, which has stood at the corner of Alabama and Almeda for a century. It sits right next to Luigi's Pizzeria and Retrospect Coffee, so it's easy to find. The venue does more than just one-off shows, too: they host First Thursdays in the Drum Shed and put out a Live at Axelrad, Jazz Wednesdays vinyl compilation to mark the tenth anniversary of their Jazz Night. This Halloween set is on the Fest Stage, one of the spots where they run their programming.
