Industry event for disaster preparedness, response and recovery featuring keynotes, networking and technology solutions.
Natural Disasters Expo USA is coming to the George R. Brown Convention Center on Wednesday, October 14 and Thursday, October 15, from 10 AM to 12 PM. It's now in its fifth year, and the organizers describe it as a leading event for mitigating the consequences of the world's costliest disasters—a key date for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.
Over the two days, the expo brings together industry leaders, government agencies, first responders, and resilience professionals. The focus is on new solutions and technology, networking, and education. The Houston setting is a deliberate choice: a city that knows how to prepare for disasters, respond, and rebuild. Past sessions have drawn on lessons from events like the 2017 Santa Rosa fires and Winter Storm Uri, so the conversations here tend to be rooted in real-world experience rather than theory.
The keynote this year is When Crisis Calls: Leadership, Communication & Community in the Moments That Matter, delivered by Amy Forsythe with co-presenter Mandy Feindt. The session hits on exactly what the expo is built around: how to lead and communicate when things go wrong and how community plays into the recovery. It's part of a broader program that spans six different fairs focused on preparation, response, and recovery.
