Mid-Day on Main

Mid-Day on Main kicks off at the Main Street Promenade on Tuesday, October 6, and it's not just a one-off. It's a series that runs every Tuesday through the end of the year: October 6, 13, 20, 27; November 3, 10, 17, 24; and December 1, 8, 15, 22. Each one runs from 11 AM to 1 PM, so it's built around the lunch hour.

What you'll find there is a mix of live street performances, street games, and lunch specials from nearby businesses, all happening right on the promenade. There's expanded seating set up so you can actually hang out and watch rather than just passing through, and Downtown Ambassadors will be handing out giveaways. It's the kind of thing that turns a regular Tuesday lunch break into something a bit more.

Mid-Day on Main is presented by Downtown Houston as part of the Downtown Houston Presents program, which covers a wide range of events throughout the city—everything from meet-ups for pups and people, blanket bingo, and free movies in the parks to holiday extravaganzas and quirky interactive art installations. This series brings that same energy to the heart of downtown, with the performances and games as the main draw.

It all takes place at the Main Street Promenade, 712 Main Street, Houston, TX 77002. Admission is free, and since it runs every Tuesday from October 6 through December 22, you can drop in whenever your schedule allows.
