A children's theatre production where Maricela and her sibling go on an adventure through mythical characters to learn the importance of being a hero.
Company OnStage is running Maricela De La Luz Lights The World at The Company OnStage throughout October, a musical adventure written for families and young children. The production is staged by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois.
The story starts with Maricela and her younger sibling out Christmas shopping when the weather takes an odd turn and everyone in the city disappears. From there, the two find themselves crossing paths with a moon god, a cyclops, Hercules, and a seven-headed hydra, among other fantastic and mythical characters. Along the way, they learn about standing up for what is right and being the hero of their own story. It's a children's theatre production, so it's built for families to watch together.
