Concert by the all-women flamenco fusion act Las Migas at the Cullen Theater in Houston.
Las Migas play the Cullen Theater at the Wortham Center on Tuesday, November 3, at 7:30 PM. They're an all-women flamenco fusion act from Barcelona, and this is their only Houston date on the tour.
They've been at this for more than twenty years, with six studio albums and stages across five continents behind them. The latest is Flamencas, released in 2025, and it's a return to the music's roots. The Chicago Reader called it "a bold rumba-tinged feminist flamenco," which gives you a good sense of where they're sitting right now—still rooted in the tradition, but with a distinct, contemporary edge.
They've picked up a few awards along the way. In 2019, they took home a MIN Award for Rumberas, and in 2022, they won the Latin Grammy for Best Flamenco Album for Libres. Between those and Flamencas, you can see the arc they've been on: from the rumba-heavy sound of Rumberas to the Grammy-winning Libres, and now back to the roots with the new record.
