King Buffalo with L.A. Witch

King Buffalo play Bad Astronaut Brewing Co. on Tuesday, November 17, with L.A. Witch opening. It's a double bill of heavy psych, so you've got two bands on the same bill that both lean into the loud, sprawling side of the genre.

King Buffalo takes the headlining slot. They're known for heavy psych, which usually means long songs, a lot of fuzz, and a sound that takes its time to build. If you've followed them, you know they aren't exactly a pop act; they're more about the slow burn and the heavy lift than the quick hook. L.A. Witch opens the night, and they fit right into that same orbit—psychedelic rock that doesn't shy away from the heavier end of the spectrum. Between the two, the evening stays in one general neighborhood, so you won't be switching gears between the opener and the headliner.

Bad Astronaut is over at 1519 Fulton St, in the 77009 zip code. Doors open at 7 PM, and the music starts at 8 PM, so there's an hour to get in and settle before the first set. Tickets are $25.
