Stand-up comedy show with Marlon Wayans, known for Woke-ish and Netflix movies Sextuplets and The Curse of Bridge Hollow.
Marlon Wayans is playing The Improv in Houston over three nights, starting Friday, October 16. He's one of the big names coming through the city this fall, and he's taking over the stage for a full weekend of stand-up.
If you know him from the screen, you've probably seen him in Woke-ish or the Netflix movies Sextuplets and The Curse of Bridge Hollow. On stage, he works from a similar place: his stand-up blends observational humor with personal storytelling, and he pulls from his roles in film and television as well as his comedy specials. He's known for an energetic, honest approach to everyday life and pop culture, delivered with sharp wit.
The Improv is one of the city's premier venues for live stand-up, and it's worth knowing how it works before you head in. Seating is general admission on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you want a good spot, you'll want to get there early. All shows are for ages 18 and over with a valid ID, and there's a two-item minimum per person inside the showroom.
