Hilary Hahn performs Beethoven's Violin Concerto with the Houston Symphony, conducted by Andrés Orozco-Estrada.
Hilary Hahn is coming to Jones Hall for a three-night run from February 12 to 14, 2027, performing with the Houston Symphony. She's one of the most recognized violinists working today—the symphony calls her one of the greatest of all time, a sentiment Gramophone has echoed—and she's taking on Beethoven's Violin Concerto, a piece that's widely considered one of the most beloved concertos ever written. It's a big name paired with a big work, and it's the center of the program.
Sharing the stage is Conductor Laureate Andrés Orozco-Estrada, who leads the orchestra through the second half of the evening: Brahms's Symphony No. 1. It's a grand, majestic piece that balances the more intimate, solo-led first half. Between the two, you get a full evening of classical music that spans two of the most influential composers in the repertoire, with the violin concerto as the main draw.
The run covers three dates: Friday, February 12, at 7:30 PM; Saturday, February 13, at 7:30 PM; and Sunday, February 14, at 2:00 PM. The Sunday matinee is a Patron Appreciation Day, the symphony's way of thanking its audience, and the first 150 guests at each performance get a gift. Each concert runs about 120 minutes with a 20-minute intermission, and the symphony recommends it for ages 6 and up.
