Annual Halloween run with 5K, 10K and half-marathon distances, with free candy after the run.
The Halloween Trick or Trot Run returns to Eleanor Tinsley Park on Saturday, October 31, with a 7:30 AM start. It's the organizers' annual Halloween run, and they pitch it as the point where "healthy fitness meets frightful fun."
There are three distances to choose from: a 5K, a 10K, and a half-marathon. Whether you're out for a quick morning jog or looking to put in some real mileage, you can pick the one that fits your pace. And since it's Halloween, the costumes are part of the whole thingβyou'll see plenty of people running in full gear.
One of the better parts comes after the finish line: free Halloween candy for the runners. It's a nice little reward for getting up early on a Saturday morning. If you can't make it to the park in person, there's a virtual run option, so you can still get in on it from wherever you are.

The organizers keep the event small, personal, and local, and they describe it as something they've intentionally kept that way so it feels more like a hometown memory than a massive, impersonal race-day crowd. It's less about the big-event spectacle and more about the local running community coming together for a morning tradition. If that's your speed, you'll find it at Eleanor Tinsley Park, 18-3600 Allen Pkwy, in Houston, starting at 7:30 AM on Saturday, October 31.
