Retrofutura 30th anniversary celebration with Hadden Sayers Band, marking the first vinyl release of Retrofutura.
Hadden Sayers Band plays McGonigel's Mucky Duck on Friday, October 23, at 6 PM. The night is a 30th anniversary celebration for Retrofutura, the album Sayers recorded with bandmates Charlie Knight and John Hamilton when they were a young Houston band on the rise. Three decades later, Sayers' full band is returning to honor the record and the memory of Knight and Hamilton, whose musicianship and friendship shaped the sound and spirit of the album.
It's also the first time Retrofutura is coming out on vinyl, so you can pick up a copy there. The set will span Sayers' career, with a heavy focus on the songs that started the journey. If you've followed him for a while, you'll recognize the material; if you're just getting in, it's a good place to see where he came from.
