A jazz concert by Tiana Hall and The Houston Jazz Band with a buffet, wine, bubbly, casino games and a cash bar.
Golden Notes and High Stakes comes to The Ballroom at Tanglewood on Wednesday, October 7, at 6 PM. It's the Houston Symphony League's third annual Jazz/Casino event, and the league bills it as a way to celebrate anniversaries and birthdays. The HSL has been supporting the Houston Symphony since 1937, so this is one of their bigger nights of the year.
On the music side, you'll get jazz from Tiana Hall, an HSL member and a local jazz favorite. She's backed by the Houston Jazz Band, and there's a dance floor for when you want to get up. The rest of the evening leans into the casino theme: the ticket includes a buffet with unlimited wine and bubbly, contests like Heads or Tails, and this year's new addition, a 'Whiskey Pull.' There are also drawings for prizes and casino chips throughout the night. If you want something beyond the bubbly, a cash bar is available.
