A gentle yoga flow and meditation session with crystal sound bowls, part of the Fitness in the Park series at Discovery Green.
Farida Meguid leads a gentle yoga flow and sound bowl meditation at Discovery Green on Tuesday, October 13, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. It's a free session on the Jones Lawn, the largest green space in the park—twelve acres of landscape that usually host everything from company picnics and weddings to concerts and festivals.
The class is part of Fitness in the Park, Discovery Green's free weekly outdoor fitness series presented by UTHealth Houston. It's not a one-off: the series also brings Hip Hop Yoga, Tai Chi and Yoga Better to the park throughout the season. The organizers open it to all fitness levels, and they describe the whole thing as part of the park's belief that everyone deserves health and happiness.
For this particular session, Meguid handles the yoga flow while Saumil Manek plays crystal sound bowls, so you'll have the movement and the sound bowls running together. It's a gentle pace, meant to be accessible whether you've practiced for years or this is your first time on a mat.

Since it's outdoors, you'll need to bring your own gear: a yoga mat, a towel and some water. You'll also be asked to sign in when you arrive. The class runs from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM on the Jones Lawn, and it's free.
