Open-air night market with local artisans and small businesses selling vintage, handmade, and local goods.
Flea by Night returns to Discovery Green on Saturday, October 17, from 6 PM to 10 PM. It's an open-air night market presented by Green Mountain Energy, and it's free to enter.
If you haven't been, the setup is pretty straightforward: local makers, artists, plant vendors, and small businesses set up booths across the park's green space along Avenida de las Americas, specifically at the Grace Event Lawn in downtown Houston. You'll find vintage finds, handmade treasures, recycled and repurposed goods, and one-of-a-kind local items. It's the kind of place where you can spend a few hours just browsing through what people in the city are actually making.
There's a bit more to it than just the shopping, too. Discovery Green describes the market as part of its mission to shine a light on the diversity of talent in Houston, spotlighting the entrepreneurs and creatives making a living here. It's become a popular spot for Houstonians to discover new small businesses, so if you're looking for something that isn't from a big-box store, this is a good place to start. Between the plant vendors and the handmade goods, there's plenty to look at even if you aren't planning on buying anything.
