Argentine author Ezequiel Zaidenwerg presents his novel in verse 'Fantasma escritor' and engages in a conversation with author and translator Roberto Tejada.
Ezequiel Zaidenwerg comes to Inprint House on Thursday, October 15, to present his new novel in verse, Fantasma escritor. He'll be in conversation with author and translator Roberto Tejada, as part of the Escritores en la casa series.
Zaidenwerg is an Argentine writer born in Buenos Aires in 1981. Before this novel, he worked mostly in poetry, publishing the collections Doxa in 2007 and La lírica está muerta in 2011 and 2017. He's also a translator who has worked with poets like Emily Dickinson and Mary Ruefle, and he's a founding member of the poetry-action collective Como Un Lugar. If you're into poetry, you might already know him from El poema de hoy, the newsletter where he sends out translated poems every day. Fantasma escritor has earned praise from Fernanda Trías.
Leading the conversation is Roberto Tejada, the Hugh Roy and Lillie Cranz Cullen Distinguished Professor of creative writing and art history at the University of Houston, who has published six poetry collections of his own. The Escritores en la casa series is made possible by the Rita Mallett Blasser Foundation.
