Eluveitie, the Swiss folk metal pioneers, perform live at Warehouse Live Midtown as part of their 25 Years North American Anniversary Tour 2027, with support from Nini Music and Illumishade.
Eluveitie play Warehouse Live Midtown on Wednesday, March 10, 2027, as part of their 25 Years North American Anniversary Tour 2027. They're bringing along Nini Music and Illumishade to round out the bill.
If you're not familiar with them, Eluveitie are Swiss folk metal pioneers led by Chrigel Glanzmann. They're often credited with spearheading the "New Wave of Folk Metal," a style that fuses Gothenburg-style melodic death metal with ancient folk melodies and themes. They started in 2002 as a studio project and put out their self-financed EP VĆŖn in 2003, followed by the album Spirit in 2006. After signing to Nuclear Blast Records, they released Slania in 2008, the all-acoustic folk album Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion in 2009, and the heavier Everything Remains... As It Never Was in 2010. Their 2012 album Helvetios combined all those previous elements into one record.
They've toured extensively with acts like Amon Amarth, Finntroll, and KorpiKlaani, and their live shows are known for intricate arrangements and energetic delivery. The lyrics are often sung in Gaulish, which adds to the folk side of the sound. This Houston date is part of a tour marking 25 years since they got started, so the set will likely pull from across their catalog rather than focusing on one era.
