A Halloween-themed indie rock festival featuring Ghouls N' Fools, Bonny.af, Nu Shop, In the Attic, Padlock, The Babysitters, Silvercel and Psychadelic Maggot Engine.
Ghouls N' Fools head up a Halloween-themed indie rock show at Bad Astronaut Brewing Co. on Friday, October 16. The night is presented by Bad Astronaut in collaboration with What's It? Fest and Discovering HTX Music, and they're pitching it as a step into a "killer indie rock show" of raw guitars and haunting melodies. Costumes are encouraged, so if you've been looking for an excuse to pull one together before the actual holiday, this is a good place to start.
It's a full bill, not just a single band. Along with Ghouls N' Fools, the lineup includes Bonny.af, Nu Shop, In the Attic, Padlock, The Babysitters, Silvercel, and Psychadelic Maggot Engine. With eight acts on one stage, it's more of a mini-festival than a standard club date, and the variety of names suggests a long night of music rather than a quick set.
Bad Astronaut is a Houston craft brewery and taproom just north of downtown, built around the idea of brewing badass beers and having a good time. The space is 36,000 square feet, and when they aren't hosting shows, they keep pool tables, air hockey, and shuffleboard open for free. It's an all-ages night, though there are a couple of things to keep in mind: the front taproom doesn't allow children after 9 PM, and concerts admit children aged 6 and over with a ticket and parent or guardian supervision.

Doors open at 5 PM and the music starts at 5:30 PM, so you'll have plenty of time to grab a beer and settle in before the first act takes the stage. Tickets are $12 GA in pre-sale and $15 GA on the day of the show.
