Stand-up comedy show by Derrick Stroup, Running Hot Tour, at Cullen Performance Hall.
Derrick Stroup brings his Running Hot Tour to Cullen Performance Hall on Saturday, October 17, at 7 PM. He's an Alabama native who describes his stage style as a mix of Lewis Black and Ron White, driven by the cadence of an angry auctioneer and the charm of Southern storytelling. If you've never seen him, that's a fair place to start: the high-energy delivery of the former paired with the dry, observational wit of the latter, all held together by a Southern drawl.
Stroup moved to Denver, Colorado, in 2015 and became a regular headliner at Comedy Works there, while touring clubs across the country alongside comics like Bert Kreischer, Larry the Cable Guy, John Crist, Josh Blue, and Nate Bargatze. He was also a featured performer on Bargatze's Nashville Christmas on CBS. In 2023, he was selected as a JFL New Face, and in 2019, he won one of the country's biggest comedy competitions. He's also known as a Waffle House enthusiast.
