A weekly Texas music series featuring David Michael Wyatt and DJ Big Reeks at the Anheuser-Busch Stage in Discovery Green.
David Michael Wyatt headlines the Anheuser-Busch Stage at Discovery Green on Thursday, October 29, as part of Deep in the Heart: A Texas Music Series. He's joined by DJ Big Reeks, and the show runs from 7 PM to 9 PM.
Wyatt is known as "The Velvet Voice," and he's worked with 13-time Grammy winner Babyface and appeared in the series The Chi. He's one of several Texas musicians featured throughout the series, which Discovery Green describes as a celebration of the sounds of the Lone Star State. The bill ranges from Americana, country and Tejano to indie rock, blues, folk, hip-hop and punk, and the series is pitched as much as a community gathering in the heart of the city as a showcase of Texas musicians.
Wyatt's night is part of a larger run. The series has been playing weekly on Thursday nights throughout October 2026, with the Anheuser-Busch Stage—a state-of-the-art outdoor venue set against the downtown Houston skyline—serving as the home for each bill. The other dates in the series included EZ Band with Bombón on October 8; Chaparelle with Rodell Duff and DJ Vinyl Ranch on October 15; and 30footFALL with Municipal Bats and DJ Mexican Blackbird on October 22. The October 1 date was rescheduled to November 7, when Cure For Paranoia will play with Jumprope and DJ Bloom.
