A high-energy R&B party celebrating R&B classics and legends, produced by the Bacement Foundation for the Arts, with live performances and DJ sets.
Bacement Foundation for the Arts brings Dancin' in the Street... Thriller on the Hill to Miller Outdoor Theatre on Friday, October 30, at 7:30 PM. It's a one-night-only Halloween weekend edition of their R&B revue, and the producers are billing it as a high-energy party rather than a sit-quietly concert. The night is built around R&B classics and legends, and they're inviting the audience to dress up as their favorite R&B artist or in a genre-inspired costume.
On stage, you'll get live performances from the Motown & More show artists and the Soundtrack Band, with live DJ sets mixed in. The whole thing is produced by Bacement Foundation for the Arts, the same team behind Dancin' in the Street... Motown & More Revue, which has been one of Miller's most popular fixtures for nearly 30 seasons. The foundation works to preserve the legacy and culture of Black American performance and visual art while spotlighting Houston's local talent.
If you can't make it in person, the performance is also livestreamed. For those who do go, there's a practical heads-up: traffic around Hermann Park will be heavier than usual because of Zoo Boo at the Houston Zoo, and parking is limited. Arriving early, taking a rideshare, or hopping on the METRORail Red Line are the best ways to get there without the headache.
