Cursed to Flirt: A Haunted Burlesque

Poppy Tart Productions brings Cursed to Flirt: A Haunted Burlesque to Henke & Pillot on Saturday, October 17, with two showtimes: 6:30 PM and 9:30 PM. The headliner is Medianoche, a New York City performer who's coming to Houston for the night. The show is an upscale Halloween burlesque, and the production company describes it as romance draped in danger and a curse laced with desire, performed by an all-professional cast.

Poppy Tart Productions is known for bringing in performers from across the country and beyond, and they describe their shows as a celebration of beauty, confidence, and the art of the tease, blending classic glamour with modern sass. Cursed to Flirt fits that description—it's a burlesque show with a Halloween theme, and Medianoche is the main draw. The production company puts together a professional cast for each run, so it's not just a single act but a full evening of performances.

The show takes place on the second floor of Henke & Pillot, at 809 Congress St in downtown Houston. The room is set up with couch seating, fine drinks, and a big stage, and doors open half an hour before each show. If you've never been to a burlesque show before, the organizers suggest following their guide to etiquette: dress to impress, applaud enthusiastically, treat the performers with respect, and avoid flash photography.

Tickets run from $50 to $80 per person. With two showtimes—6:30 PM and 9:30 PM—you can pick the one that fits your Saturday night best, and since doors open 30 minutes early, you've got plenty of time to get a drink and find your seat before the first act takes the stage.
