City Ballet of Houston presents excerpts from the upcoming 2026-2027 season at MATCHBOX 2.
City Ballet of Houston opens its 2026-2027 season at the Midtown Arts & Theater Center on Monday, October 12. It's a two-night run, with a second performance on Tuesday, October 13, so you've got a couple of options if Monday doesn't work for you.
The program is a season opener in the truest sense: it's built around excerpts from the upcoming season. Rather than one full-length production, you'll see a series of shorter pieces, each a preview of what the company will be staging throughout the year. It's a good way to get a feel for the different styles and stories they'll be tackling before the full season rolls out.

If you're not sure which night to pick, the times are slightly different. The Monday show starts at 7 PM, and the Tuesday one is a bit earlier, at 6:30 PM. Both are held in MATCHBOX 2, one of the smaller stages within the MATCH complex, which keeps the dancing close to the audience. Tickets are general admission seating for $25, plus a $5 Box Office Support fee per ticket.
