Concert by American singer-songwriter Christine Albert, joined by guitarist Ben Jones.
Christine Albert plays McGonigel's Mucky Duck on Friday, October 16, at 6 PM. She'll be joined on guitar by Ben Jones.
Albert has put out six independent albums, and a good part of her catalog looks back toward her European roots. TEXAFRANCE, TexaFrance-Encore!, and the 2008 Paris, Texafrance are all bilingual tributes to her heritage and her love of French chanson. Earlier on, her 1995 CD Underneath The Lone Star Sky, released on Antone's/dos Records, climbed into the top twenty on the national Americana radio chart.
She's also worked across a few different stages. She's appeared on Austin City Limits and The Texas Connection, wrote and performed her own "Don't Mess With Texas" ad, and starred in a Bluebell Ice Cream television commercial. Joining her for this one is Ben Jones, a self-taught guitarist from Minster on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent. He's been playing since 1995 and has fronted projects like Carters England, The Lovedays, and Beat Root Revival with Andrea Magee.
