Chris Hughes presents a night of live country music celebrating the release of his new album My Heart's in Tennessee, with special guest Tyler Kohrs.
Chris Hughes is celebrating the release of his new album, My Heart's in Tennessee, at White Oak Music Hall on Monday, October 12. He'll be performing with his full band, and Tyler Kohrs, who appeared on NBC's The Voice, opens the night.
My Heart's in Tennessee is Hughes' first full-length record, a collection of ten original songs he wrote entirely himself. Five are brand new, and five are fan favorites he's played before. He describes it as his most personal and authentic release yet, rooted in honest storytelling and real-life experiences, with the songs running from heartfelt ballads to up-tempo country anthems. His writing centers on home, family, heartbreak, faith, and the moments that stay with us, blending traditional country, Americana, and the sounds he grew up on.
Hughes is a Texas-based country singer-songwriter with East Tennessee roots, and the album title points right back to that connection. He's a Houston Songwriters Association Song of the Month winner and a 2027 Texas State Songwriters Championship finalist. The show is built around the new record, so you'll hear the new material alongside the older songs that have become staples of his live sets.
