Weekly stand-up comedy showcase hosted by Corlis DeLauren and Tess Vergult at The Secret Group, featuring local talent and themed performances.
C U Next Tuesday is back at The Secret Group on Tuesday, November 10, from 10 PM to 11:30 PM, hosted by Corlis DeLauren and Tess Vergult. It's the venue's weekly comedy showcase, which they call the engine room of Houston's alternative comedy scene.
The Secret Group is an independent venue and bar in EaDo, on the corner of Polk and St. Emanuel, and it runs stand-up almost every night of the week across two rooms: the main showroom and a smaller room called The Box. It also hosts more open mics than any other room in the city. Unlike the big clubs, it charges little and has no drink minimum, which makes it the place where local comics build their acts.

The weekly show mixes top local talent with surprise celebrity guests, themed performances, and interactive games. The venue also programs music, karaoke, and other non-comedy nights, so it's a good spot to keep an eye on throughout the week. This particular edition is hosted by Corlis DeLauren and Tess Vergult, and it runs from 10 PM to 11:30 PM on Tuesday, November 10, at The Secret Group, 2101 Polk St, Houston, TX 77003. Entry is pay-what-you-can, and well drinks are $3.
