Bun B and 8Ball & MJG

Bun B plays The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, May 15, 2027, at 8 PM. He's not coming alone: 8Ball & MJG are on the bill with him, so it's a double bill of Southern hip hop rather than a solo set.

If you're not fully caught up, Bun B is the surviving half of the legendary Port Arthur duo UGK; his partner Pimp C passed away years ago. He's long been a figurehead of Southern hip hop, and since UGK, he's kept a prolific creative pace. He's done a huge number of guest appearances and built a solo career of his own: his debut solo album, Trill, came out in 2005 and went gold, and his sophomore effort, II Trill, followed on May 20, 2008. He's a Texas native, hailing from Port Arthur, so this is home turf for him.

Adding 8Ball & MJG to the lineup puts two heavyweights of the South on the same stage. Between Bun B's UGK legacy and 8Ball & MJG's run, there's a lot of history on this bill. The show is part of Bun B's touring schedule, so this is one of the stops on his current run of dates.

One practical thing to keep in mind before you buy: the venue's age policy means everyone attending needs a ticket, including infants and lap children. The show is at The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, 800 Bagby St #300, Houston, TX 77002, starting at 8 PM.
