Pop rock band Broadside perform live at the House of Blues in Houston, with supporting acts Dead Poet Society, Honey Revenge and HUNNY.
Broadside play the House of Blues on Wednesday, October 28, with doors opening at 6 PM. They're a pop rock band from Richmond, Virginia, and they aren't coming alone: Dead Poet Society, Honey Revenge, and HUNNY are all on the bill, so there are four acts to get through before the night is over.
Broadside's sound pulls from a few different directions at once. They cite The Killers, AFI, Kings of Leon, and Taking Back Sunday as influences, and you can hear those references in the way they blend nostalgic rock energy with a modern edge. It's pop rock that doesn't shy away from its guitar roots, and it's the kind of set that works as well if you're there for the melodies as it does if you're there for the energy.
On stage, the group is fronted by Oliver Baxxter on vocals, with Domenic Reid on guitar and Patrick Diaz on bass and backing vocals. They released their album Nowhere, At Last through Thriller Records, and that's the record they're touring. The set will draw from that material, and the supporting acts—Dead Poet Society, Honey Revenge, and HUNNY—will open the night before Broadside takes the stage.
