A popular annual event where attendees bring blankets and lawn chairs for a night of bingo, music and prizes, with proceeds benefiting park programming in Downtown Houston.
Blanket Bingo is back at Market Square Park on Thursday, Oct 29, and it's one of those Downtown Houston park favorites that returns every year. The whole thing is pretty straightforward: you bring your own blankets and lawn chairs, or just take a spot at one of the park tables, and settle in for a night of bingo, music, and prizes. The proceeds go toward park programming in Downtown Houston, so it's a good way to spend a Thursday evening while helping keep the local parks running.
It's not just a one-off, either. This is the start of a new season, with two more dates to follow: Thursday, Nov 19 and Thursday, Dec 17. The nights have also grown to include theme editions, like a Halloween one and an Ugly Sweater Night that comes with its own contest. It's known to sell out, so if you're a regular, you'll want to get to the park early.

As for the night itself, packets go on sale when doors open at 6 PM, and the actual play kicks off at 7 PM. The last call to buy a packet is 7:15 PM, so if you're running late, that's your cutoff. Each packet costs $10βcard payment onlyβand covers nine rounds of bingo. Daubers are $1 each. Outside alcohol isn't allowed, but beer and wine are sold on-site at Niko Niko's, along with Greek and American food. The park is at 301 Milam St in Downtown Houston, and the whole thing runs from 6 PM to 9 PM.
