Stand-up comedy show with Houston veteran Ben Jackson, named Best Comedian in 2023.
Ben Jackson brings his show Brilliant Ignorance to The Houston Improv on Sunday, October 11. He's a Houston veteran, and in 2023 he was named the city's Best Comedian.
The Houston Improv is the city's big room for national headliners, tucked into the Marq*E entertainment center on the Katy Freeway. It serves as Houston's stop on the Improv circuit — the chain that set the template for the American comedy club when Budd Friedman opened the original in New York in 1963. The room holds around 450 at tables, dinner-theater style, with a curtain that pulls back to shrink the space for smaller bills. It stands in contrast to Punch Line Houston, which works on a general admission, first come first served basis, and to the city's smaller rooms, The Den and The Riot, which tend to book the best working local comics rather than television names.
