AVDA presents Home Safe Home Gala

AVDA (Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse) is hosting its Home Safe Home Gala at The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa on Thursday, Oct. 15. It's their signature fundraising event, and it's been running since 2012. The evening is built around food and wine pairings, a live auction, and a separate auction, with all the proceeds going to AVDA's programs.

If you're not familiar with what they do, the numbers give you a good sense of the scale. Since the gala started, supporters have raised more than $6.26 million to fund services that strengthen families and safeguard homes. That money has helped more than 69,000 children and families find safer housing and provided free legal services to over 28,000 survivors. They've also reached 59,500 youth through healthy relationship programming and offered intervention counseling to 14,250 abusers.

It's a wide-reaching operation that works on both ends: helping survivors get out and find stability, and working with abusers to stop the cycle. The gala is the main way they bring in the funding to keep those programs running.

The event is on Thursday, Oct. 15, at The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa in Houston. If you're driving, parking is available in the Binz Garage, which is right next to the Binz Building where AVDA's office is located.
