A culinary show where Alton Brown combines science, humour and storytelling with live cooking demonstrations and music.
Alton Brown is coming to Jones Hall on Friday, November 13, for An Evening of Alton Brown. If you know him from the screen, you probably recognize him as the culinary icon behind Good Eats, Iron Chef America, Cutthroat Kitchen, and Food Network Star. He's spent years on the road, playing more than 300 cities for well over half a million fans, but this show is a bit different from the big productions he's known for.
For this one, Brown is stripping away the spectacle in favor of connection, spontaneity, and storytelling. He's trading the large-scale production for something closer: stories, science, food, and whatever happens in the room on the night. He's promising new demonstrations, music, and what he describes as slightly scaled-down mayhemโstirring up twists on his greatest hits. The evening is part of Performing Arts Houston's 60th Anniversary Diamond Season.
One practical thing to keep in mind: there's a shellfish allergy warning, as the show uses shellfish. If that's a concern for you, it's worth knowing before you book. Otherwise, it's a night of science and humor with a familiar face at the center of it.
