Concert by the American Patchwork Quartet, a folk-jazz ensemble led by Clay Ross, at Lynn Wyatt Square Park.
American Patchwork Quartet plays at Lynn Wyatt Square on Saturday, October 10, at 7 PM. The group is led by Clay Ross, a multi-GRAMMY award-winning guitarist and vocalist who fronts the ensemble.
Their sound is built around timeless American folk songs, but they pull in a wide range of influences to shape them. They describe the music as binding those folk roots with jazz sophistication, country twang, West African hypnotics, and East Asian ornamentation. It's a broad mix of traditions—folk, jazz, country, and sounds from West Africa and East Asia—all working together in one set.
The concert is a Partner Event at Lynn Wyatt Square, a 1.5-acre cultural gateway in downtown Houston's Theater District. The park is run by Houston First Corporation and opened in September 2023, just across Louisiana Street from Jesse H. Jones Hall.
