A creative writing workshop inspired by Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, where participants explore memory, identity and movement through guided writing activities.
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is the inspiration behind a writing workshop at Inprint House on Saturday, March 20, 2027. It's not a performance to watch, but a session to work in, and it's open to adults of all experience levels. The workshop is built around the idea that dance and performance can act as catalysts for fresh creative work, and the activities are designed to get you writing through memory, identity, and movement.
Inside, you'll find guided and interactive exercises that use those themes to pull out new material. The session is structured so that you don't need a writing background to get something on the page, and it's recommended for ages 18 and over. Since the focus is on the act of writing, you'll want to bring your own materials—a notebook and pen, or a digital device, whatever you prefer to work with.
