A bright, fast-paced new comedy about the life of Noah Bailey, told through the eyes of those who knew him best.
About Noah is running at Theatre Suburbia through October 17, with performances on Friday and Saturday nights at 8 PM and a few Sunday matinees. It's a new comedy by Paula Coco, and the whole thing is built around one man: Noah Bailey. The play follows his life across several decades, starting in the swinging '60s and carrying through to the present day, but here's the twist—you never see Noah himself. The story is told entirely through the eyes of the people who knew him best, so who Noah actually was depends on who's talking. Coco describes it as a kaleidoscopic look at one life, and the result is a fast-paced comedy where perception is everything.
On stage, Polona Pearson takes on the heavy lifting, playing multiple characters throughout the show. She's joined by Bev Raney, Josephine Schreier, Crystal Tye, Alex Vaughn, Amal Abdallah, Tony D'Armata, Patrick Lukingbeal, and Greg Griffin. It's a large ensemble for a show about one man, which fits the way the story is put together—a collection of different voices each offering their own version of the same person.
