Annual community fun run with 5K walk, 5K run, 10K run and kids' 1K, with finish-line party.
The 41st Annual Houston Heights Fun Run returns to Marmion Park on Saturday, October 10, 2026. It's a neighborhood staple that's been running since 1985, put on by the Houston Heights Association, and this year marks its 41st editionโit hasn't missed a single year since it started. While it's a community run first and foremost, designed to bring family, friends and neighbors together for a morning out, it also works for anyone chasing a personal record. The course is flat and fast, with only one turn for the 5K and three for the 10K, and both are USATF Certified. All proceeds go back into the community for beautification, restoration, maintenance and education.
There are four ways to get in: a 10K run, a 5K run, a 5K walk, and a kids' 1K. The 10K is $50, the 5K run and walk are $40, and the kids' 1K is $15โthose in-person prices go up after June 30, 2026. If you can't make it in person, there are virtual options: $60 for the 10K, $50 for the 5K, and $25 for the 1K.

The finish line opens right into a block party at Marmion Park, which is where the morning really settles in. There's a live DJ, craft beer from Eureka Heights Brew Co, free professional photos, and a vendor village. Medals go to the top three male and female finishers in each age group, so there's something to aim for whether you're at the front of the pack or just out for the morning. The whole thing runs from 5:30 AM to 10:00 AM, with the races starting at 7:00 AM, at Marmion Park, 1800 Heights Boulevard, Houston, TX 77008.
