Family-friendly 5K and 1K fun run/walk in honour of Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, organised by Missing Pieces Support Group.
Missing Pieces Support Group is hosting its 3rd Annual Life After Loss 5K & Fun Run at Mason Park on Saturday, October 17, from 9 AM to 11 AM. It's a family-friendly morning that brings together families, friends, supporters, and community members for remembrance, connection, and support.
The run falls during Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, and that's the heart of why it happens. Missing Pieces is the group behind it, and they work with families affected by pregnancy and infant lossโproviding care packages, grief support services, resources, and community programming. The morning is as much about that community as it is about the running, and participants are encouraged to wear pink and blue. All proceeds go back into the group's programs and resources.
There are a few ways to get involved, depending on how you want to spend your Saturday morning. The chip-timed 5K Run/Walk is $40, and there's a family-friendly 1K Fun Run/Walk for $30. If you can't make it to the park in person, there's also a virtual challenge available throughout October for $25. The 5K is timed, so you'll get a real number on your run, while the 1K is more about getting out there with your family. Both are open to all ages and paces, so you can run, walk, or just stroll through with your kids.
