Free summer music series featuring a variety of genres including Acadian, Celtic, and jazz music on Tuesday evenings at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.
Tuesday Night Tunes returns to the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic this summer, running every Tuesday from July 7 to August 18. It's the museum's free summer music series, now in its 11th year, and it's part of the community nights they hold on the Halifax waterfront.
The concerts take place in the museum's anchor yard on the boardwalk, right out in the open air. If the weather turns, they move indoors to the Small Craft Gallery, so you've got a spot regardless of the rain. The repertoire is wide, pulling from Acadian and Celtic music, sea shanties, African drumming, classical, roots and jazz. It's a series that changes its sound from week to week rather than sticking to one genre.
Waterfront Development and the Canadian Maritime Heritage Foundation support the series. While the music is free, there's a call for donations to Feed Nova Scotia to help curb food insecurity: you can give a monetary donation through the Tip Tap system or leave a non-perishable food item at the admissions area.

The museum is at 1675 Lower Water Street, and the concerts run from 4 pm to 8 pm every Tuesday throughout the summer. Admission is free.
