TEDxArgyle St. returns to the Light House Arts Centre on Saturday, August 29, for a full day of talks running from 11 am to 5 pm. It's an independently organised TEDx event held in the heart of Halifax, grounded in the TED mission of 'Ideas Worth Spreading'.
The 2026 edition runs under the theme EVOLVE, which looks at growth, creativity and transformation in a world that's constantly changing. The day brings together around twenty speakers from Nova Scotia and beyond, each sharing bold ideas and fresh perspectives across science, culture, innovation, community and personal insight. Because the talks come from such different fields, the day moves from one subject to another rather than sticking to a single topic.
It's a fairly small gathering, with seating limited to 80 attendees, so it'll feel more like a shared conversation than a big conference. If you're into the TED format — short, focused talks that get straight to the point — this is a good way to see a whole range of them in one go without having to hunt for individual videos online.

Doors open at 10:45 am, and the talks run until 5 pm, so it's a proper day out. Tickets are C$129 for Early Bird admission until June 30, and C$145 for regular admission. With only 80 seats, it's worth grabbing yours sooner rather than later.
