Acclaimed Eagles tribute band bringing their live show back to the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium.
Take It To The Limit are back at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium on Thursday, October 8, bringing their Eagles tribute show back to the Dalhousie Arts Centre. They're an acclaimed act that performs the band's hits 100% live, so you'll hear the songs played out on stage rather than backed by tracks.
The show takes its name from the Eagles' song 'Take It to the Limit', the third and final single from their 1975 album One of These Nights. Written by band members Randy Meisner, Don Henley and Glenn Frey, it was sung by Meisner and reached number four on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number twelve in the UK — the band's biggest success at that point. It's one of the few Eagles tracks written in waltz time, and it became a live favourite, though Meisner's reluctance to perform it sparked disputes that contributed to his departure from the group in September 1977, when he was replaced by bassist Timothy B. Schmit.
The song has a long life beyond that original run. The band revived it with Glenn Frey on lead vocals at the Staples Center in 1999, and since 2017, Vince Gill has taken over lead vocals. That history is part of the Eagles' story, and it's the song that gives this tribute act its name.
