The final day of the Sunset Beats Festival, featuring Afrobeats, house and global rhythms in an open-air waterfront setting.
Sunset Beats wraps up its festival run at Bar Sofia on Sunday, August 16, with the Sunday Social. It's the third and final day of the festival, billed as the official closing chapter that brings the whole weekend full circle. The party takes place on the open-air patio at Bar Sofia, 1709 Lower Water Street, #104, right along the Halifax waterfront.
The music is handled by DJ Riggs, Fovah, Frotribe and Ubuntu, and the sound moves through Afrobeats, deep Afro, house, amapiano and global rhythms. It's a wide stretch of dancefloor styles, so the afternoon shifts between them rather than sticking to one lane. The whole thing is powered by Downtown Halifax and Veuve Clicquot, and it's built as a social-first event around connection, culture and summer movement.
Being an outdoor patio set, the experience leans on golden hour energy and sunset views over the waterfront, with the music running through the afternoon. It's a 19+ event, and because it's entirely open-air, it's subject to a strict outdoor policy. If the weather turns, updates are posted through the Sunset Beats platforms.

It runs from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, so it's a late-afternoon thing rather than a late-night one. There's no cover charge, though an RSVP is encouraged.
