Summer Tuesday Night Tunes at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic

Tuesday Night Tunes is back at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic on Tuesday 11 July, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. It's part of the museum's summer series, which has become a regular fixture on the Halifax waterfront. The museum opens its doors for free every Tuesday from 5 pm to 8 pm all year round, so you can arrive early and hang around after the music finishes.

The series has run through a wide range of genres over the years — African drumming, Acadian and Celtic music, sea shanties, classical and jazz. When the weather turns, the shows move inside to the Small Craft Gallery, so there's always a spot for the music regardless of the rain.

If you've never been, the museum is at 1675 Lower Water Street. You can take in the harbour from the observation deck, meet Merlin Macaw, the museum's friendly Rainbow Macaw, and explore Nova Scotia's maritime history, including the continuing exhibit Ta'n me'j Tel-keknuo'ltiek: How Unique We Still Are. It's a good spot to spend a few hours on the waterfront, with the music as just one part of the evening.

The session runs from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, and admission is free.
