A summer rooftop party featuring Afrobeats, Amapiano and Dancehall music with performances by Ini Cash and Justin UG.
SHUT UP X DANCE makes its Halifax debut at The Decks Rooftop on Friday 14 August, bringing one of the city's hottest party concepts to the waterfront. It's a summer rooftop experience that runs from 10:00 pm through to 3:30 am, and the whole night is built around a single rule: SHUT UP X DANCE.
The music spans Afrobeats, Amapiano, Dancehall, Afro-House and global sounds, with Ini Cash and Justin UG leading the bill. If you're not familiar with those names, they're two of the biggest figures in the Ugandan music scene, known for their work in the Afro-pop and dancehall space. They've collaborated on plenty of tracks together, and their presence here puts a direct connection to East African sounds at the centre of the night.
Sunset Beats is the crew behind the event. They've described it as a summer rooftop experience, and the venue—The Decks Rooftop at 1732 Argyle Street—puts it right on the waterfront, which fits the open-air, late-night vibe. The music doesn't stick to one corner of the map, either; it moves across Afrobeats, Amapiano, Dancehall, and Afro-House, so it's a broad sweep of African and global club sounds rather than a single genre.
