Alternative folk rock band Shred Kelly performs live at The Carleton in Halifax, presented by the Halifax Urban Folk Festival.
Shred Kelly play The Carleton on Wednesday, August 5, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. They're a five-piece alternative folk rock band from Fernie, B.C., and this is a solo bill — just them on the stage.
They came out of the Canadian Rockies in 2009, and their live show started on the ski-town circuit before it moved onto the international stage. The sound pairs acoustic and electric instrumentation with harmonies and a driving rhythm. They've toured Canada, the United States, Europe and the UK, playing festivals like Kaslo Jazz, Ottawa Bluesfest, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Mariposa Folk Festival, SXSW and Reeperbahn, and sharing stages with The Dead South, Elliott Brood and The Cave Singers. They were nominated for Rock Artist of the Year at the 2021 Western Canadian Music Awards, and have earned Spotify editorial playlisting and international radio play on Sirius XM and Radio Eins in Berlin.

The show is presented by the Halifax Urban Folk Festival as part of a series of acts whose touring schedules didn't line up with HUFF's own dates. It's already sold out, so if you're looking for a ticket, you'll have to find someone selling theirs. Tickets were C$28.50 including taxes.
