SHEAL celebrates the release of her home-going EP with a seated show at The Carleton.
SHEAL plays The Carleton on Sunday, November 22, a seated show celebrating the release of her new EP, home-going. It's a homecoming in more than just name: SHEAL is the stage name of Sheilagh McNab, a Halifax-born singer-songwriter who's been based in Toronto for some time now. This is her returning to the city to mark the new record with her Halifax crew behind her.
home-going is due out in early October, and the lead single, "Falling Asleep," arrived on July 8. It's her third EP to date; her sophomore release, golden hours, came out in 2024 and was produced by Gavin Gardiner and James Robertson. Her work is piano-driven indie-pop with emotive vocals, and it's found its way onto Sirius XM and CBC radio programmes across Canada, including Afterdark and Fresh Air.
The night is billed as an intimate indie-pop evening, and the seated format at The Carleton fits that description. It's a chance to hear the new material in a room where you can actually focus on the songs, with the Halifax crew filling out the sound around her.

Tickets are C$20 plus HST, which comes to C$22.80 including tax. The show runs from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Sunday, November 22, at The Carleton in downtown Halifax.
