Three acclaimed Canadian songwriters share songs, stories and harmonies in an intimate seated performance.
Sarah MacDougall, Lisa MacIsaac and Catherine MacLellan share a stage at The Carleton on Thursday, August 13, 2026. It's a seated, in-the-round show, which puts the three of them right in the middle of the room rather than up on a distant stage. They'll be trading songs, swapping stories and singing in harmony, moving between laughter and reflection, stripped-down honesty and deep musicality. They describe the night as more than a concert, but a shared space where three voices come together.
Each brings a different background to the mix. Sarah MacDougall is a Swedish-born, Canada-based songwriter whose folk-pop-rock songs have earned her multiple awards; Nöjesguiden once called her one of Sweden's best singer/songwriters. Lisa MacIsaac, originally from Cape Breton, is a celebrated singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist and a member of the award-winning duo Madison Violet, whom Germany's WDR listed among its best bands of all time. Catherine MacLellan is a JUNO Award-winning songwriter from Prince Edward Island whose work runs from intimate ballads to anthemic reflections, and who continues to honour her father Gene MacLellan's legacy, which includes songs like 'Snowbird' and 'Put Your Hand in the Hand'.
Because it's an in-the-round performance, the focus stays on the three of them together rather than on separate sets. They'll be sharing the stage throughout the night, singing their own songs and joining in on each other's, with the stories they tell in between filling in the gaps. It's a seated show, so you can just sit back and listen.
