Alt folk-rock outfit Reuben and the Dark perform live at The Seahorse Tavern in Halifax.
Reuben and the Dark play the Seahorse Tavern on Thursday, 15 October, starting at 8:00 PM. It's an alt folk-rock outfit led by singer-songwriter Reuben Bullock, whose music pairs introspective lyrics with soaring instrumentals.
Bullock is a Calgary-born, Joshua Tree-based singer-songwriter, skateboarder and carpenter. He's released four full-length records and toured the world, and his songs have appeared in Breaking Bad, The Highwaymen, Game of Thrones and The Handmaid's Tale. That's a fair bit of ground to cover—from the desert of Southern California to the screen of some of the biggest shows on television.
On the night, the bill is just Reuben and the Dark. The set will draw from that body of four albums, with the introspective songwriting and the larger instrumentals that define the band's sound. It's the kind of gig that sits somewhere between a singer-songwriter set and a full band performance, and with Bullock's background in folk and rock, you can expect a mix of the two.
