Vancouver-based Americana band Petunia & The Vipers perform live on their 'Cross Canada East to West' tour at Bearly's House Of Blues & Ribs.
Petunia & The Vipers play Bearly's House Of Blues & Ribs on Friday, October 2, as part of their Cross Canada East to West tour. It's a Vancouver-based band, and this is one of 24 dates they're playing across 19 or 20 cities throughout 2026 and 2027.
On stage, Petunia takes vocals and acoustic guitar, with Patrick Metzger, Paul Townsend on drums and percussion, and Stephen Nikleva on electric guitar and mandolin. They also work with a rotating roster of guests, including Noah Walker, Joseph Lubinsky, Kathleen Nesbit, Rusty Blake, Jack Garton and Jimmy Roy.
The band describes their sound as a hybrid of country, blues, ragtime, Dixieland jazz, bebop, western swing, old-time cowboy and jug and string band music, with touches of punk, alternative and Bowie. Their influences run from the Carter Family, Jimmie Rodgers and Hank Williams to Blind Willie McTell and Blind Lemon Jefferson. They call it music that springs off the past and jumps into the present, part old-tyme, part new times. Fans and critics describe it as a modern, unclassified take on classic Americana.
