Launch party for the Nocturne: Embodied City festival featuring live performances by Breaking Circus, a special beer cocktail, and free entry.
Nocturne is back for its 19th year, and the launch party kicks things off at Propeller Brewing on Friday, October 2. This year's edition is called Nocturne: Embodied City, curated by Annalise Prodor, and it returns to Kjipuktuk/Halifax from October 15 to 18. The festival brings art and energy to the city's streets every year, with the Signature Art-at-Night Showcase on Saturday, October 17.
The party itself runs from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Propeller's Gottingen Tap Room and Cold Beer Store, 2015 Gottingen Street. The night features live performances by Breaking Circus, and it's also the debut of the Nocturne x Propeller brew: the Nocturne Spaghett. It's a limited-edition beer cocktail — a crisp lager with Aperitivo and fresh lemon — sold for a short time, with the proceeds going directly to the festival.

It's a free event, and there's no RSVP required, so you can just show up. The party is the first look at what's coming later in the month, and the beer is available for a limited run, so it's a good time to get a taste of the festival before the main dates arrive.
