Loreena McKennitt brings her The Mask and The Mirror Anniversary Tour to the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium, celebrating the 30th anniversary of her 1994 album.
Loreena McKennitt plays the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium on Saturday, October 17, as part of her The Mask and The Mirror Anniversary Tour. The Halifax date is one stop in a dozen-city run across New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Québec and Ontario.
The show is built in two halves. The first set brings together fan favourites from across her career, and the second runs through every song from The Mask and The Mirror, the 1994 album that marks the tour's namesake. That record was McKennitt's fifth studio album, and it's the one that really put her on the map: Billboard called it "timeless and transcendent," and it has sold more than two million copies worldwide. It's known for its cross-cultural blend of Celtic, Spanish and Moroccan influences, and it's widely seen as a turning point in her music.
She's not on her own for this one. The band includes Caroline Lavelle on cello, Brian Hughes on guitar, Hugh Marsh on violin, Dudley Phillips on bass and Robert Brian on drums. Together they'll be working through the full album in that second set, so you'll hear the record from start to finish.

Doors open at 7:00 PM at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium, 6101 University Ave, Halifax, NS B3H 4R2.
