Lennie Gallant and his Band

Lennie Gallant and his band play the Shore Club on Tuesday, August 4, starting at 6:30 pm. Gallant is an East Coast songwriter with sixteen albums of original material and a long list of awards behind him, and this is a full-band set rather than a solo affair.

Much of the night will likely draw from his latest record, Shelter From the Storms, which came out this past June. It's his first English-language album in seven years, and he describes it as a reflection on the turbulent times we live in. With sixteen albums in his catalogue, though, there's plenty of older material to pull from alongside the new songs.

The venue is the Shore Club at 250 Shore Club Rd, known as Nova Scotia's Last Great Dance Hall. It's been hosting parties every summer Saturday night since 1946 and is celebrating its 80th year. The room sees a wide range of music throughout the season—classic and contemporary rock, blues, R&B, reggae, zydeco, swing, and big band—and it's also home to the original Nova Scotian Lobster Supper.

As for getting in, tickets are available at the door at 9:30 pm the night of the show. Another option is to arrive early and have the Shore Club Lobster Supper, with tickets purchasable with the meal. The music starts at 6:30 pm.
